Is Testing a must Before Beginning Fertility Treatments?

Fertility testing is a must before commencing IVF treatment! In fact, testing is the beginning of IVF treatment.

Couples may have already completed most of the required testing with their initial fertility evaluation. Our nurse will let the female know if anything else needs to be done before beginning IVF. If she had had a hysterosalpingogram (HSG), she will be invited to review the results to rule out the possibility that she has hydrosalpinx.

The male partner will have semen analysis to assess his sperm concentration, motility and morphology, and a semen culture to check for the presence of infection.

Our team will perform a trial transfer to measure the depth of the uterine cavity. This will help determine where the embryo will be transferred during the actual cycle. The doctor will order blood tests for the couple.
