View your embryos during IVF
The purpose of IVF treatment is to generate an embryo that can grow into a healthy baby. This involves a complex series of procedures that result in the conception of a child.
During IVF treatment, eggs retrieved from a woman’s ovaries are fertilized with sperm retrieved from a man. The eggs and sperm are placed in a laboratory culture dish, where fertilization occurs, or the perm is injected into the eggs in a process called Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
After a few days, the resulting embryo(s) are then transferred into the woman’s uterus for implantation. This process is called Embryo Transfer or ET, for short. It is a critical stage in the IVF cycle because it determines whether or not a pregnancy will occur.
Embryo transfer is usually performed by a team of embryologist, fertility nurse and doctor. The transfer procedure is a very gentle process.
In most cases, our patients and their spouses express their desire to witness the embryo transfer process live on a screen.
Thanks to recent technological upgrades at Primecare, our patients can now view their embryo transfer sessions live.
We provide a TV-like screen for patients and or relative to view the embryo transfer process. With this, our patients can see their embryo(s) being picked up and placed into their uterus. This recent addition to our service offers several benefits to our patients.
Patients can now see and connect with their unborn babies for the first time before they are transferred into the uterus. This priceless experience is very emotional for most patients.
Secondly, it makes our embryo transfer process more transparent. Sometimes, patients may have genuine concerns about the embryo transfer process.
These concerns can range from questions like “Will the right embryo be transferred?” to “What if there was a mix-up or mistake during the process?” to “What if no embryo is transferred and they tell me a transfer was done?”
These are genuine concerns that most patients do not communicate. This can cause anxiety and worry, which in turn threatens their chances of a positive outcome.
Giving our patients the option of viewing their embryo transfer alleviates these concerns. It also provides them with a clear understanding of the embryo transfer process as well as assurance that we adhere to the highest quality standards when providing IVF services.
All of these make our patients feel more at ease, excited, and confident about the outcome of their cycle. Although some people feel that it is too soon for patients to get attached and get their hopes up, we find this emotional experience to be very comforting for most of our IVF patients.
We believe that it may even have a huge positive impact on the outcome of their IVF cycle.
So, if you are trying for a baby and decide to go the IVF route, you can trust that our skilled medical team will assist you throughout the entire process and ensure your treatment cycle goes as stress-free as possible.
You will not have to worry about anything with the option of viewing your embryos during IVF. And if you have any concerns at all, remember that our team of experts is always happy to answer your questions.
